Curious about the Eucharist? 2008-2009 |

In the Eucharist the Lord Jesus Christ is truly present in the form of bread and wine. When we celebrate the Eucharist we celebrate the sacrifice that He made for us on the Cross. The Eucharist is therefore a great mystery; here the depth of God’s love is revealed. Understanding this is no easy task. To help us better understand, the Cathedral is offering several months of Catechesis on the Eucharist, beginning in October 2008.
There will be fourteen talks on this greatest of sacraments, split into three sections:
A mystery to be believed (focusing on our faith in the Eucharist) A mystery to be celebrated (focusing on how we celebrate Mass) A mystery to be lived (focusing on how the Eucharist changes our lives)
These titles are taken from Pope Benedict’s Apostolic Exhortation Sacramentum Caritatis, “The Sacrament of Love”.
Alongside the talks there will be other events which will be advertised nearer the time. There will also be input on the Cathedral newsletter.
