The Organ at Lancaster Cathedral

Lancaster Cathedral is blessed with a fine three-manual pipe organ, the finest instrument produced by Ainsough (Preston). This section of the website gives more information about the organ and its history.

The organ is currently in the latter stages of a huge restoration project, which will see complete renovation of the soundboards, replacement of the bellows, cleaning of all the pipes and the installation of a new console. After restoration work is completed pictures will appear here. There will also be a series of recitals on the restored instrument, taking place throughout 2009.
