Saint Peter
The Cathedral is dedicated to St Peter, Prince of the Apostles, and is blessed with many fine images of this great saint.

Close to the main entrance is a statue of St Peter, a replica of the one in St Peter's Basilica, Vatican. Its bronze foot is worn as a result of many people touching it as a mark of respect for the saint.

On the north side of the nave, four windows depict twelve scenes from the life of St Peter; further images of the saint can be seen in the baptistery and the Blessed Sacrament chapel.

The Cathedral parish looks to St Peter for an example, and also asks his intercession, that he may lead us closer to the Lord.

Peter's main feast is celebrated jointly with St Paul on June 29th; the feast of the Chair of St Peter is celebrated on 22nd February; the Dedication of the Cathedral is celebrated on the Sunday closest to October 4th.
