Saint Thérèse of Lisieux in Lancaster

28th-30th September 2009

Three ways to help with the visit of St Thérèse to Lancaster

1. Promote the visit

Across the Diocese and beyond people are learning about St Thérèse and arranging coaches so that people can come to venerate her relics. Could you do something? We need volunteers in each area to help people learn about Thérèse and her message, and people to organise coaches. If you can help, contact us.

2. Help during the visit

A small army of volunteers will be needed to help during the visit. We will especially need stewards and people willing to help provide refreshments for the many visitors we expect. We plan to organise helpers in three-hour shifts. Could you volunteer your time? Are you a member of a group that could help, or could you round up a few friends or parishioners to take on a shift? If you can help in any way please contact us.

3. Financing the visit: We need your help!

There is no funding for the visit either from the Church nationally or from the Diocese of Lancaster. We rely completely on donations to pay for expenses associated with the visit; money will also be needed to promote the event so that as many people as possible will benefit from it. If you can help and would like to make a donation, please click on the ‘donate’ button to the right to make a secure donation by credit or debit card. If you prefer to send a cheque, please make it payable to St Peter’s Cathedral and send it to Cathedral House, Balmoral Road, Lancaster LA1 3BT. Please ensure that you include a note to tell us it is to help with the relics’ visit.
