Saint Thérèse of Lisieux in Lancaster

28th-30th September 2009

Visiting St Thérèse in Lancaster

The visit of St Thérèse is expected to attract a lot of people, so it would help us greatly if groups could contact us in advance. It is not too early to book in!

When should I come?

The relics will be at the Cathedral from about 4pm on Monday 28th September to 11am on Wednesday 30th September. The Cathedral will be open throughout and you are welcome to visit at any time, day or night. Groups are asked to contact us to discuss a time to come; in this way we hope to spread more evenly the number of people visiting.

During the visit there will be Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours celebrated at certain times. The details can be found on the visit programme, here (pdf here).

Events and visiting times for certain groups

There are special events and times of prayer for some groups:

Young People

There will be an all-night youth vigil starting at 10pm on Tuesday 29th September and ending with Mass at 6am on Wednesday 30th (followed by breakfast in the Social Centre). Anyone can attend, but the programme for this vigil is especially geared towards youth.

Clergy and Religious

There will be an all-night vigil for clergy and religious starting at 10pm on Monday 28th September and ending with Mass at 6am on Tuesday 29th (followed by breakfast in the Social Centre). Anyone can attend, but the programme for this vigil has been prepared with clergy and religious in mind.

School Groups

A programme of activities for schools will take place on site on Tuesday 29th September. More details can be found here. Sixth formers may also be interested in the all-night youth vigil (details above).

Parishes
